About the book
Azlan returns, this time at the dinner table. The book blends gentle guidance with childlike joy, helping very young readers pick up good manners in a way that feels natural rather than instructed. Written as a read aloud for parents and as a practical resource for teaching mealtime behaviour with some patience. It is the second title in the Adventures of Azlan series.
The illustration
Continuity was the job here. Azlan had to be unmistakably the same child as in Dreamland while the setting moved from a night sky to a kitchen table, so the character sheets from the first book carried straight across. The palette warms up and brightens to suit a daytime, domestic story, and the compositions sit low, at the eye level of somebody who is still quite close to the floor.
